About Southern ADK Help
A free, plain-language directory of help in Warren, Washington and Saratoga Counties, New York: food, housing, health care, transportation, legal help and more.
Why it exists
Getting help often means calling around for hours: who takes my insurance, who is open, who do I even ask? This site gathers what local helpers have learned over years of connecting people to services, and checks it against official sources, so anyone can find the right door faster. It is for people looking for help, their families, and the workers and volunteers who help them.
How listings are kept up to date
- Every listing shows when it was last checked. "Checked online" means we checked it against the program's own website or an official source. "Confirmed with the program" means we called or emailed them. Food, shelter, rent help, crisis and domestic violence listings are re-checked every 3 months, others every year.
- Insurance tags for "Straight Medicaid" come from New York State's public list of enrolled providers. Other plans are tagged only when the provider says so.
- See something wrong? Tell us, and we'll fix it.
- Organizations never pay to be listed, and a listing is not an endorsement.
Who gets listed
We use the same rules for every program, even ones we know. We list a program when:
- It helps people in Warren, Washington or Saratoga County. Programs farther away count if people from here can use them.
- It is free or low-cost, takes Medicaid, or fills a need people here often have.
- We can check its details with the program, its website, or a government source.
- It is OK with us sharing its details, or it already shares them in public.
We take a listing down (but keep it on file) when:
- we can't reach the program after two tries in about a month,
- it closes, or
- it gives wrong information about its services, costs or who it helps.
No one can pay for a listing, and we never take gifts or favors for one. Every listing shows the date we last checked it. We try to check each one at least once a year.

Help spread the word
Print a one-page flyer with a QR code and tear-off strips for a waiting room, library, food pantry or bulletin board.
Privacy
No accounts, no ads, no tracking or analytics. The site never asks for information about the people it serves. The anonymous "what's getting in your way" form collects only a county and the barriers you tick; comments are seen only by the site owner. The "Don't see the help you need?" form collects only what kind of help you were looking for and, if you choose, a county.
Open source
The code behind this site is free and open source (MIT license), so other communities can run their own version. See the code and how to set one up: github.com/J2matlock/community-resource-directory.
